My Heart is Fixed
“7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise… 10Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. 11Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.” (Psalm 57:7,10,11)
God wants all the people in all the earth to praise Him – those that go down to the sea, those in the islands, those in the wilderness, those in the cities, those in the villages, those in the rocks, and those in the mountains. That pretty much includes everyone. No one is left out from the opportunity to bring God praise and singing.
So, how is my heart? Can I say, “My heart is fixed”? Oh, that this were always true of me. Often things happen, and I allow my emotions to control me instead of the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit within me is available to give me power when I need it. It is important that I fix my heart on God and make my heart ready and prepared to sing and give Him praise. When I do so, God can be glorified in me.
