1. He is undefiled. He walks with integrity and without blemish. “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.” (verse 1)
2. He is kept from sinning, and He walks in God’s ways. “They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.” (verse 3)
3. He is not ashamed. “Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.” (verse 6)
4. He has an upright heart that can offer acceptable praise to the LORD. “I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.” (verse 7)
5. He can have the assurance that the LORD will never forsake him. “I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.” (verse 8)
This God in whom the Psalmist trusted is our God also. What a joy to know that we can pray with the Psalmist, “Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!” (verses 4 and 5) Then we would experience those wonderful blessings listed in these short verses, the blessings of the one whose delight is in the law of the LORD.
