Psalm 107:17-20 says, “17Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 18Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. 20He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
When we sin, we must always pay. Sometimes the consequences of sin result in us being very sick. We may be unable to eat and even feel like we are going to die. But God is still there to hear our cry. We can cry to the Lord in our trouble, and He will save us out of our distresses. Even if we have sinned against God, He has not forsaken us. When we cry to Him, He will send His word and give us healing and deliver us from the things that would destroy us. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)
“21Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 22And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.” (Psalm 107:21,22)
