Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
If our hearts are heavy with the extra care that is upon us, and, perhaps, the fear that is upon us because of the Corona Virus, we have rest in Jesus. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden.” His promises is, “I will give you rest.”
When I am troubled, I can look to Jesus for my example. He was meek and lowly, gentle and humble. When I look at Him and see this and learn of Him, I find rest to my soul.
I Peter 5:5b-7 says, “…be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
If we humble ourselves before God, He gives us grace and takes all our cares upon Him. He gives rest to our soul because He cares for us. We have rest in Jesus. Tonight, let us come to Jesus and learn of Him and take a moment to cast all our cares upon Him. He will take them, for He cares for us.
