11. Isaiah 28:12
God tells through His word how the weary may rest. If you are weary, study God's word, especially the Psalms. There you will find God's refreshment and rest.
“To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing….”
12. Isaiah 57:1,2
God takes the righteous away from the evil to come. They enter into His peace, and rest, and walk in uprightness.
“1The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. 2He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.”
13. Isaiah 63:14
God leads His people into the valley to rest.
“As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.”
14. Jeremiah 31:2
God gives rest after judgment. He gives rest even in the wilderness.
“Thus saith the LORD, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”
15. Daniel 12:13
Days may be full of tribulations, trials, and confusion; but for God’s people, rest is coming in the end.
“But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.”
16. Habakkuk 3:16
When God brings punishment for evil, He will give rest in the day of trouble to them that fear Him.
“When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.”
17. Zephaniah 3:17
God will rejoice and rest in His love when He thinks upon His people. He is mighty to save them.
“The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
18. Mark 6:31
When God’s servants are working hard, and there is much coming and going and no leisure time for physical refreshment, God desires that they come apart into a quiet place and rest a while.
“And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”
19. II Chronicles 32:7,8
God gives rest during a time of danger and fear.
“7Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him. 8With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.”
20. There is a place to rest near to the heart of God. This verse does not mention the word rest, but the concept is there. It gives a picture of peace, rest, and safety.
“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” (Psalm 36:7)
