"From a Mother's Heart" expresses her response to God when He chose to take away from her newborn son the breath of life.
From a Mother's Heart - a touching post written by Mrs. Knickerbocker. She and her husband are missionaries to Burkino Faso and arrived there very recently. Due to complications of pregnancy, labor was induced a couple of weeks early. The baby seemed very healthy, but the Lord called him home to Heaven only two hours after he was born.

"12When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them. 13This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD. 14Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD. 15The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls." (Exodus 30:12-15) This is one of my favorite passages. My heart gets a little thrill when I realize that every soul is precious to God. Each soul is of equal value to God. The rich are not worth more to Him than the poor, and the poor are not worth less. Every soul is precious to God. I read something interesting that someone posted on Facebook today. It said that "depressed" pronounced phonetically is "deep rest." It got me to thinking that when I start to feel down and frustrated perhaps it is just time to stop and get alone for rest and refreshment, both physically and spiritually. "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength." (Isaiah 30:15) |
About the Author
Hello! My name is Connie, and I live in North Carolina. The Lord has blessed me with wonderful parents, a wonderful sister, and a great church family . The past few years have been difficult in many ways, but God has been with me all the way. Much praise goes to the Lord for His guidance and wisdom in starting this website. I would also like to express my thanks to Valerie who has joyfully and willingly given of her time to help design this website and do much of the technical work. She and her family are faithful servants to the Lord. They also have gone through many trials in the past few years, but they have allowed God to use these trials to make them sweeter and more like His Son Jesus Christ. Rights:
