This beautiful little song is in my hymnbook, Pentecostal Hymns 1 and 2. It has such beautiful, encouraging, and comforting word pictures. Just a Little Sunshine 1. Just a little sunshine everywhere we go, Over darkened pathways, rays of blessings throw; Golden rays of gladness from a loving heart, Help the world to brighten; let us do our part. Chorus: Sunshine, sunshine, just a little sunshine, Bearing heavenly gladness through his world below; Sunshine, sunshine, just a little sunshine, Telling love's sweet story, everywhere we go. 2. Like the blessed Master, in this life, are we, Sent to comfort others, publish liberty; Willing hands outreaching, strengthening the weak, In the name of Jesus, consolation speak. 3. Just a little sunshine makes the roses grow, In the barren places, flowers begin to show; Lift the clouds of sorrow, cheer the hour of gloom, Fruits of grace will ripen for immortal bloom. ~E. E. Hewitt ~Love Ran Red That Day~ The regret that I feel for my thoughtlessness, for my foolishness for not thinking how it might make you feel, but God you still take me, forgive me, love me, anyway. Starting over again, the peace I feel inside my soul, Your forgiveness, the love that You've shown. How did I deserve the Grace You give to me, so freely and willingly? What love You bestowed, what a debt I owed! Thinking over it now, how blind could I be and to think that over 2000 years ago, You gave your life for me, all the promises that You made came true. Nothing left for me to do but to give my life to You, freely, willingly and to trust Your amazing love for me. Every time they whipped You that day, it was because of my sin that made You bleed. It was my shame that caused You pain. How can I repay for all of things You've done for me, freely, willingly?! All that I know is love ran red, that day. So deep, so lovingly. The sacrifice was too high of a price that I couldn't do it myself. Yes, death had lost it's sting that day and now what a sweet victory song I sing. Hmmmm ohhh.... Love ran red that day. "10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:10-12) "Death is swallowed up in victory. 55O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (I Corinthians 15:54b-57) I have a very old hymnbook that is falling apart. Every morning I copy a hymn out of it into a notebook. What a blessing this has been! As I copied this hymn, the words really spoke to my heart. How comforting and encouraging they are. May they bless your heart as well. No, Not One 1. There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus, No, not one! No, not one! None else can heal all our soul's disease, No, not one! No, not one! Chorus: Jesus knows all about our struggles, He will guide till the day is done, There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus, No, not one! No, not one! 2. No friend like Him is so high and holy, No, not one! No, not one! And yet no friend is so meek and lowly, No, not one! No, not one! 3. There's not an hour that He is not near us, No, not one! No, not one! No night so dark but His love can cheer us, No, not one! No, not one! 4. Did ever saint find this Friend forsake him? No, not one! No, not one! Or sinner find that He would not take Him? No, not one! No, not one! 5. Was e'er a gift like the Savior given? No, not one! No, not one! Will He refuse us a home in Heaven? No, not one! No, not one! ~Johnson Oatman, Jr. |
About the Author
Hello! My name is Connie, and I live in North Carolina. The Lord has blessed me with wonderful parents, a wonderful sister, and a great church family . The past few years have been difficult in many ways, but God has been with me all the way. Much praise goes to the Lord for His guidance and wisdom in starting this website. I would also like to express my thanks to Valerie who has joyfully and willingly given of her time to help design this website and do much of the technical work. She and her family are faithful servants to the Lord. They also have gone through many trials in the past few years, but they have allowed God to use these trials to make them sweeter and more like His Son Jesus Christ. Rights:
