This is an old hymn, but a beautiful one, and one full of hope.
Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy
1. Come, ye sinners, poor and needy,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore;
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity, love, and power;
He is able,
He is able;
He is willing doubt no more.
Chorus:
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms;
In the arms of my dear Savior,
O there are ten thousand charms.
2. Now, ye needy, come and welcome;
God's free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance
Every grace that brings you nigh,
Without money,
Without money,
Come to Jesus Christ and buy.
3. Let not conscience make you linger,
Nor of fitness fondly dream;
All the fitness He requireth
Is to feel your need of Him;
This He gives you,
This He gives you;
'Tis the Spirit's glimmering hope.
4. Come, ye weary, heavy-laden,
Bruised and mangled by the fall;
If you tarry till you're better,
You will never come at all;
Not the righteous,
Not the righteous,
Sinners Jesus came to call.
5. Agonizing in the garden,
Your Redeemer prostrate lies;
On the bloody tree behold Him!
Here Him cry before He dies,
"It is finished!
It is finished!
Sinners, will not this suffice?
6. Lo! The incarnate God ascending,
Pleads the merit of His blood;
Venture on Him, venture freely;
Let no other trust intrude;
None but Jesus,
None but Jesus
Can do helpless sinners good.
~Joseph Hart
"1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:1,6,7)
