“1) And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2) For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:1,2) The Lord always does exactly what He says He will do. He always performs as he has spoken. He keeps all His promises, and He is always on time. We can trust Him completely to keep His word. He is faithful, and His word cannot fail. Amen!
In Isaiah 55:11, we see this same assurance that God’s word will be fulfilled. What God has said will happen, will surely come to pass, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
Another passage that assures that God’s counsel shall stand is Isaiah 46:9,10, “9) Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10) Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.”
Throughout the Scripture, God repeats His promise that whatever His word decrees will come to pass. God’s word is 100% faithful. We can trust it. God never changes and His word never changes. We can count on them. James 1:17 tells us that, in our Father above, there is “is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” Not even a shadow of changeableness can be found in our Heavenly Father. He is faithful, and His word cannot fail!
