The following was written by my friend Katy W. during a time of change in her life. I pray it will be a blessing to those who read it.
Leaves Change: Jesus Doesn't
Change. How do we react to it? Positively or negatively? OK, for me sometimes both. Change was always hard for me growing up even though I really had a similar life style throughout my childhood through to my young adulthood. I am now presently facing change and it’s hard because in my life I am having to figure out and say, OK, Lord, what now? What path am I to take? I need direction. Things are no longer easy like when I was a little girl.
I am facing life changes, that are pretty normal, I guess. They happen to everyone more or less. Going to college for the first time, getting ready to be married, etc. These are some things out of the few changes I will be facing soon. I ask; how am I to run my own home, teach and train my own kids one day? Meet new friends? Be a wittiness? Pass HARD tests? What my future spouse and I are facing as we begin to prepare our future together we ask, what path are we to take Lord? We are a little scared and we need your direction. There is a pro to change for me. I cry out to Jesus. I pray and meditate on his Word. So I say right now, "Thank You, Lord, for knowing me when I am weak. How You lift me up! And in turn, I will lift Your name on high and praise You, O God."
I also think of change like seasons -- you can’t change snow from coming in the winter or fall leaves from falling in Autumn. It just happens whether we want it to or not. Another thing I think of that always lifts my heart and wipes the fear of change away in a second, is the verse in the Bible that says, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday today and forever."
Leaves change, but Jesus doesn’t.
I thank and praise HIM that He’s always there and is always the SAME. So, as I face news things in my life, I am learning to pray and trust Him ALONE; and I encourage you, the reader, when you face changes and something comes unexpectedly, look to HIM the wonderful Maker, God, and Friend that NEVER changes!
Dealing with Change,
