God sent His own Son as a servant to seek a bride for Himself. She was called out of this world and must be willing to leave this world behind and prepare to go to the Home that God has prepared for her, to be with His Son for evermore. This bride is the church.
We are called out of the world just as Isaac’s bride was called out of her homeland. Rebekah left her home and kindred behind to marry a man she had never seen. She had to trust Abraham’s servant and trust that Isaac would be a good husband to her. We are called to leave the world and its pleasures behind. Often, we leave our kindred behind as well because they have no desire to come out of this world. We are married to the Lord Jesus and must trust Him and the Father. We have never seen Jesus or the Father, but one day we will go live with Jesus forever. The Bible says that when Rebekah got to Isaac’s place, “Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her.” (Genesis 24:67a) One day we will go to Jesus’ place. He will welcome us in with open arms, and there will we stay enjoying His presence and His love forever.
